BecauseRESETisanasynchronoussignal,clicksandpopsproducedduringtheapplication(theleading
edge)ofRESETcannotbeavoided.However,thetransitionfromthehard-mutestate(M-state)tothe
operationalstateisperformedusingaquietstart-upsequencetominimizenoise.Thiscontrolusesthe
PWMresetandunmutesequencetoshutdownandstartupthePWM.Adetaileddescriptionofthese
sequencesiscontainedinthePWMsection.Ifacompletelyquietresetorpower-downsequenceis
desired,MUTEshouldbeappliedbeforeapplyingRESET.
Therisingedgeoftheresetpulsebeginsdeviceinitializationbeforethetransitiontotheoperationalmode.
Duringdeviceinitialization,allcontrolsareresettotheirinitialstates.Table3-2showsthedefaultcontrol

BecausetheTAS5518Chasanexternalcrystaltimebase,followingthereleaseofreset,theTAS5518C
setstheMCLKanddataratesandperformstheinitializationsequences.ThePWMoutputsareheldata
mutestateuntilthemastervolumeissettoavalueotherthanmuteviaI

TheTAS5518Ccanbeplacedintothepower-downmodebyholdingthePDNterminallow.Whenthe
power-downmodeisentered,boththePLLandtheoscillatorareshutdown.Volumeisimmediatelysetto
